Virtual try-on apps for Shopify: an honest comparison

Published

Shoppers upload a photo of themselves and see your clothes on it — that is what every app here does. They differ in what else comes with it, how the free allowance works and what the plans cost. We make Aynada, whose Shopify app is still in App Store review; everything about the other apps comes from their own Shopify App Store listings, read on 25 October 2026.

How we picked the apps

We searched the Shopify App Store for “virtual try on”, “ai try on”, “try on clothes” and “virtual fitting room”, and kept the apps whose listing says the shopper sees clothing on a photo of themselves. Of those, these are the 8 with the most reviews on the day we checked. Every figure in this post is copied from the app’s own listing; nothing comes from third-party directories or the vendors’ blogs. Each listing is linked, so you can check it — listings change often, and most of these apps launched within the last year.

We left out apps that came up in the same searches but do something else:

8 apps and Aynada, side by side

“Cheapest plan with try-ons” is the lowest monthly plan that includes try-ons, with how many it includes. Where a listing gives a number without saying per month, the table says so. Most apps also sell extra try-ons beyond the plan; those prices are in the app-by-app notes below and on each listing.

What each listing says it does well

In the listings’ own terms. Where a claim is the vendor’s, we say so.

  • Antla AI Virtual Try On — the most reviewed app here. It pairs the try-on with size charts and unit converters and can give an automatic discount to shoppers who try something on. There is no free plan; every plan has a 7-day trial, and the listing says its try-ons are “to start”, without a period.
  • GenLook: AI Virtual Try On — Built for Shopify. Besides the try-on, an AI shopping assistant (marked beta) answers questions on size, fit and style, recommends a size from your size chart and builds outfits from your catalog. Each try-on can capture an email, and the dashboard tracks try-on-attributed sales.
  • AI Frame: Size Chart & Try On — a sizing app with a try-on: size recommendations beside the size picker, size charts imported from your store, a photo or a PDF, and a saved fit profile per shopper. Worth a look if your returns are mostly about size. Its Starter plan includes fewer try-ons (80 a month) than the other apps’ cheapest plans that include try-ons.
  • Icona: AI Virtual Try On — works for tops, bottoms and full-body looks, and a screenshot also shows dresses, shirts, jewelry, sunglasses and shoes. Email lead capture with pop-ups and discounts is built in, and a prompt can guide the result.
  • SS: AI Virtual Try On — you choose the products or collections that offer the try-on, and Growth adds a before/after comparison and analytics. Note the free plan: 10 images for the life of the store, not per month.
  • TryPoint ‑ AI Virtual Try On — the listing says it is “powered by Google” and that shopper photos are deleted automatically and never used to train AI (the vendor’s claim; no period is given). Email capture, a try-on gallery in the Shopify admin, shopper feedback and permission to reuse try-ons as UGC. Its pay-as-you-go plan suits a test with little traffic: $0.01 a month and $0.29 per try-on.
  • VibeTry AI Try On & Size Guide — a try-on with a size advisor based on body data, and automatic catalog sync. The plans list a fixed number of try-ons and no price for extras; the free plan’s 10 try-ons have no period on the listing.
  • Tuck AI Virtual Try On & Size — checks your catalog and switches the try-on on only where results hold up, picks the sharpest product photo for each render, and suggests a size from height, weight, age and fit preference against your size chart. No free plan; a 7-day trial, and extras are capped (for example +50 on Starter).

Aynada on Shopify: what it does, and where it is weaker

Aynada adds a try-on button to your product pages as an app block in the theme editor; you choose which products show it. The shopper uploads a photo and sees the product on themselves. It is designed for clothing. More on the Aynada for Shopify page.

Plans and prices will be on the Shopify App Store listing when it opens; billing goes through Shopify.

After the first free try-on the shopper can be asked for an email, with marketing consent asked separately. Orders that followed a try-on are matched by email and cart, which shows an order came after a try-on — not that the try-on caused it. Photos and results are deleted 30 days after the try-on and never used to train AI (privacy policy). Aynada also runs on ikas.

Where it is weaker today:

  • It is not on the Shopify App Store yet. You cannot install it today, and it has no reviews; every other app here has a listing with ratings you can read.
  • No size advice and no AI assistant. Antla, GenLook, AI Frame, VibeTry and Tuck combine the try-on with sizing, and GenLook adds a shopping assistant.
  • No Studio: the model images that Aynada makes on ikas are not part of the Shopify app for now.
  • Photos are kept for 30 days before they are deleted. If you want them gone sooner, ask each vendor how long they keep them.

How to choose: questions to ask

Which app is best depends on your range, your traffic and what your shoppers hesitate about. Before you install, ask:

  1. Does it work on my products? Try it with your own product photos — a fitted dress, a jacket, a pattern — and with photos of different people. Most apps have a free plan or a trial for exactly this.
  2. How many try-ons will I need? Count the product-page visitors who might tap the button, then check what the plan includes, whether the number is per month, and what happens after it: extra charges, a cap, or a stop.
  3. Is size the bigger problem than looks? If most returns are about size, an app that pairs the try-on with size advice may matter more than the picture.
  4. What happens to the shopper’s photo? Where it is processed, how long it is kept, and whether it is used for training. Read the privacy policy, not just the listing.
  5. What do I get back? Emails with consent, which products are tried on, and orders that followed a try-on — and how the app counts them.
  6. Does the button fit my theme and languages? Check the theme app block, the button styles and the languages your shoppers use.

Questions and answers

Which virtual try-on app for Shopify is the best?

There is no single best one. If size is your main return reason, look at the apps that combine try-on with size advice; if you want to test cheaply, look at the free plans and trials; if you want the most reviews to read, compare the ratings on each listing. Try it on your own products before you decide.

Is Aynada on the Shopify App Store?

Not yet. Its Shopify app is in App Store review; we will add the link here once the listing is public. On ikas, Aynada is available now.

Do these apps need 3D models of my products?

No. Every app in the table works from your existing product photos and a photo of the shopper. The 3D and AR apps we left out are a different kind of tool.

Are the prices in the table up to date?

They are the monthly list prices each listing showed on 25 October 2026. Listings change often; the linked listing is always the current price.
